We begin our introduction to physical meteorology with topics in gravitation, moist and dry thermodynamics, and atmospheric stability. We next discuss quantifiaction of the radiation field, absorption and emission by atmospheric gases, and planetary radiation balance. The final lectures will approach chemical kinetics and ozone chemistry. The second semester of this course will focus on cloud physics, including topics in atmospheric scattering and and aerosol physics and chemistry.
