This is Fox.  She showed up in my backyard several years ago as a 6-month old kitten.  Both my cats are indoor/outdoor cats.  They can go in or out of my house whenever they want through an open bedroom window.  The steps you see here were built for another cat that I used to have.  He got kind of fat when he grew old and couldn't jump from the ground up to the window sill.  He never got so fat that he couldn't fit through the bars on the window though.

Fox is still a little wild and often somewhat distrustful.  She didn't really appreciate it either when I brought home Rajah a couple of years ago (you'll meet Rajah below).

Don't get the idea that Fox is as grumpy as she often appears.  She's not.

This is Rajah.  He used to belong to my father.  Actually he belonged to my father's neighbor.  But they wouldn't let Rajah inside in the winter.  Rajah is a short haired cat and it gets pretty cold in the winter in New Mexico where my father used to live.  My father was happy to let Rajah into his house, so Rajah basically moved in.  When my father died a couple of years ago, I brought Rajah over to Tucson.

Rajah has a lot of funny habits. This is one of them.  Before getting a drink of water he'll put his paw into the bowl just to figure out where the water surface is.  I guess he doesn't like getting his nose wet.

Rajah likes to "help" with all the NATS 101 grading that I have to do.  If you ever see footprints on your work, you'll know where they came from.

This is my neighbors cat Alvin.  He comes over almost everyday for a snack.  He's a very pretty Siamese cat.

This is a stray cat that has been coming by for the past 2 or 3 years.  It has taken almost that long to build up enough trust for him to let me pet him.  He doesn't fight with of my cats and they don't seem to mind him, so he's welcome.  He doesn't really have a name, so if you have any ideas, let me know.

This guy does get into a lot of fights and often has some pretty nasty cuts and scars.

One of these days I'll build up enough courage to pick him up, put him in my cat carrier, and take him to the vet to be neutered and vaccinated.  If I come to class one day with a lot of cuts and scratches myself, you'll know why.
