As you can see some students would prefer to have a textbook for the course.  That's fair.  It is helpful to see the material presented in another way and you will find much more information in a text than we can cover in the lecture portion of the course (that's one of the reasons I have chosen not to use a text).

If you think you might want to have a text for the class, I'd be happy to lend you one of the introductory books sitting on a file cabinet in my office (there's a 2nd pile behind this one that is almost as tall).  Just let me know.
