Christopher L. Castro is an Assistant Professor to the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Arizona. 

His research specialties include climate variability and regional atmospheric modeling.  His main focus currently is on the North American Monsoon and land-atmosphere interaction.

He received his Bachelors of Science in Meteorology, with the highest distinction, from Pennsylvania State University in 1997.  Afterwards, he continued his education at Colorado State University, earning his Masters of Science in 2000, and his Ph.D. in 2005.
