My CD collection grew from 2 to 4 over the weekend
(I'm going to throw one of the new CDs away so it will soon be down to 3)

I knew we would be covering hurricanes today and Wednesday
and it seemed like some MUSIC with a TROPICAL FLAVOR might be nice

My initial thought was to try to find some good STEEL DRUM BAND MUSIC
I did manage to find a steel drum band CD but the music was TOO SLOW
(if steel drum band music was ever featured on the lawrence welk show this was it)

My backup plan was try to find some CUBAN MUSIC
THERE WAS A TIME (before satellites, radar, and computer forecast models)
when CUBAN METEOROLOGISTS were among THE WORLD'S BEST
at forecasting the approach and maybe even the intensity of a hurricane

I remembered having seen a TV program a few years ago titled
the BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB
I was able to find a copy of a 1997 CD by the same name
(thank you Bookmans)

Do you want to know what I did all weekend?
I've been playing this CD OVER and OVER AGAIN
It's been driving my two cats and maybe some of the neighboors CRAZY
Well that's TOO BAD

I haven't given up on the steel drum band idea by the way
The U. of A. has a good steel drum band
I need to see if they haven't recorded a CD
