This
ferris
wheel was installed prior to the Year 2000 celebrations in
Paris. It's located near La Place de la Concorde at one end of
the Champs Elysees. It has apparently been dismantled and then set back
up one or more times since. That's the Seine river in the
foreground. There was apparently something
like this built in 1900 also.
This is La Pyramide at
the Louvre museum. It is the main entrance to the museum.
What you don't see in this photo is the long line of people waiting in
cold weather to get into the museum.
La Place de La Concorde with the
obelisk in the foreground and the Eiffel Tower in the background.
This is probably my favorite
photograph from my Paris trip. It
is actually a photograph of a much larger photograph taken by Lam Duc
Hien. I stumbled upon an exhibition
of his work hanging outdoors on the
fence
surrounding Le Jardin de Luxembourg. The photographs documented
his travels through 6 countries along the length of the Mekong
River.
I believe this picture was taken in Tibet.
