Write a story of your own - 1S1P Report Writing
Guidelines
Your story may be fact or fiction. Fictional stories may
include mystery, science fiction, Buddhist Monks, romance, politics,
history, just about anything. The story must fit onto one side of
one page and must be double spaced. There must be a connection of
some kind with material or a topic (topics) covered in this
course. Factual stories should recount a close encounter of
some kind with
unusual or severe weather, an observation of interesting or unusual
atmospheric or weather phenomena, or something of that nature.
Stories will be graded using the following criteria:
How strong of a connection is there between your story and course
subject matter and how full or thorough is your understanding of the
subject material: up to 4 pts.
How interesting, imaginative, or creative is
your story: up to 3 pts
The writing quality and/or choice of appropriate writing style: up
to 3 pts
For factual stories the connection/creativity categories might be
merged into one
Observation/Understanding category (how detailed or complete were your
observations or understanding of what you saw or experienced).
