Climate and the General Circulation
Earth - Land of many climates
Climatology, the study of climate, is the analysis of
long-term weather patterns over time and space to find areas of
similar weather statistics.
Such weather observations, gathered simultaneously from
different points within a region, are plotted on maps and are
compared to identify climatic regions.
Global climate patterns
Climographs are presented below for cities that
exemplify particular climates.
The climographs below show monthly monthly temperature and
precipitation, location coordinates, average annual temperature,
total annual precipitation, elevation, annual temperature range,
annual hours of sunshine (if available), and a location map.
