Content
Here are some of the questions
or topics that you should address in your report. What
kinds of data or information are used to determine the type of
climate for a particular region or location? You should
concentrate on and discuss (of define or describe) the 5 main
climate groups: A(Am, Aw, Af), B(Bw,
Bs), C(Cs,Cf, Cw), D(Ds,
Df, Dw), and E(ET, EF) and
perhaps at least mention or list some of the sub groups (in
parenthesis in the earlier list).
At first glance all the groups and sub groups are going
to be confusing. If ever there was a topic to start with
an outline this is it. Try to simplify the system as much
as you can and make it clearer. Try to find just a main
characteristic or two that can be used to distinguish one main
group from all the others (for example the monthly average
temperature never drops below 64 F in a Group A climate
zone). Finally you might try to include an
example city or location for a climate type or two (a home town,
or a location you're familiar with or would like to visit)
Writing Quality
Explain the material in your
own words - your report should be your understanding and
explanation of the material. Avoid generalities, try to
include specific details and examples from the reading
section. This is a particularly challenging topic because
there is a lot of information to organize, explain, and try to
fit onto one page. Many student reports consist of just a
single long paragraph. For a topic like this, several
shorter paragraphs will make your report much easier to read and
understand. Your report should be nearly free
of misspelled words and grammatical errors. Remember 1S1P
reports must be double spaced and must fit onto one side of one
page.
