CLIMAS-SAHRA Media Briefings [November 12, 2003]
As part of the END InSight initiative, CLIMAS and SAHRA (The University of Arizona/NSF Science & Technology Center for Sustainability of semi-Arid Hydrology and Riparian Areas) have teamed up with a variety of state and federal agencies, universities, and research institutions to provide Arizona and New Mexico news media with up-to-date information on drought, El Niño, climate forecasts, and state-of-the-art hydroclimatic research. The SAHRA website features these presentations in PDF files.

National Seasonal Assessment Workshop [February 25-28, 2003]
The first annual National Seasonal Assessment Workshop brought together climatologists, predictive service units, and fire managers from across the country to produce seasonal fire outlook reports. [pdf file, 881K] The report proceedings are also available [pdf file, 1.2 MB]

Fire in the West Workshop [March 5-6, 2002]
This workshop brought together key fire management and climate experts to review the 2001 fire season, assess the potential fire risk for 2002, and present research on the relationship between climate and fire.

Monsoon Applications and Human Dimensions [June 18-20, 2001]
This workshop provided an opportunity for interaction among invited representatives of key user communities, social scientists and applications experts, and North American monsoon researchers.

Fire and Climate in the Southwest [March 28, 2001]
This one-day workshop brought together key individuals from Arizona and New Mexico to review the 2000 fire season, discuss potential fire risk for 2001, and to identify ways in which climate information can be better integrated into planning and decision making activities.
